Spring Trout Closure Vote 2026
Do you support VSSA to recommond a spring speckled trout closure?
We have had two consecutive years of a cold kill on speckled trout and possible puppy drum. North Carolina already has this process in place. A vote for “yes” would begin the process for VSSA support before the VMRC to close receational and commercial harvest of speckled trout until July (spring spawn). The goal of this survey is to get VMRC involved with fisheries management to report back with a recommendation based on all available data.
